Here are a few samples of photography and videography work Erik Thallaug has done for humanitarian organizations
For over a decade, I worked on assignments for Plan International Norway, a humanitarian aid organization dedicated to driving change to advance children’s rights and equality for girls.
This is a video I recently created using previous footage. During this visit to Liberia, I met Fatou, her sisters, and their grandmother. Fatou, the youngest girl, was six years old when I visited this family. On this media tour for Plan International Norway, my role was to both taking still photos and to make videos, in connection with Elvebakken High School students raising funds for the construction of schools and other Humanitarian Aid and Development Aid projects in Liberia.
This video was filmed by me and edited by Sherpa Film. During this journey, I was responsible for both still photography and video. The guitar music and the song are recordings of a man I met at one of the places we stayed.
During our trip to Ghana, with Norwegian rock star Magnus Grønneberg along, we had the privilege of meeting Esther and her family. We conducted interviews with them, documented their daily life, and captured the challenges Esther faces. My primary role was as a still photographer, but I also took some 'behind-the-scenes' footage during breaks.
